In the porn industry, shemale is a term used to refer to trans women, trans men, and people with male genitalia and female secondary sex characteristics. Many transgender individuals find the term offensive and would never use it. However, shemale is a relatively new concept and the term has been in use since the mid-19th century when it was used in colloquial language to refer to a woman who was “aggressive” and ‘nasty’.
